about

Greetings

Welcome to my little design home on the web. Since you’ve made it this far, I’m assuming you might be interested in finding out a little more about me. I am currently a User Interface Developer at a small company called Goldstar (for a bit about what we do, read this article). I’ve been dabbling on the web ever since college, but it wasn’t until I discovered CSS Zen Garden that things started to click (no bad pun intended). Through a few twists and turns, I ended up at Goldstar. Don’t be fooled by how the site looks now — we are legit (boasting 500,000+ members!), and we’ve got a redesign that is launching very soon.

About This Site

A Simple Cell is a place for me to collect thoughts and links about web and graphic design. My hope is that the site will grow as I learn more about the craft. The site is built with (hopefully valid) CSS & HTML and managed using the awesome open-source Textpattern CMS. The site is built on a 16-column grid using a CSS framework based on the 960 Grid System.

What is A Simple Cell?

The name of this website is a reference to my background in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science. A simple cell is a basic unit in the human visual system. See the Wikipedia entry for a better explanation.

Interested in Working with Me?

If you like what you see here on the site, and would like a little help with your website, send me note. Since I do have a full-time job, I am only taking on freelance projects on a limited basis.
